Hello,
 I’m Annik.
I live in the west of  France and i’m happy to take part in ALAW

I love all about letters, calligraphy, artist books, papers.
I like to mix different  materials and technics : I like to saw  on papers, write on cotton or linen, cut up, fold, etc.
I send you my first letters for 2012, painted on “papier kraft” (I don’t know the name in English) each one in a circle and surrounded by paper  “confetti” and little pearls.
As I take part late to ALAW, I send  my first letters  all together.
Excuse me for my bad English.

March Letters - Jo

I seem to be keeping up with the challenge this year.  Perhaps because I spend so much time on the computer I can easily fit in my digital letter-making.

The background begins as a painting of mine, digitally altered and given a film grain effect in Photoshop.  The letters are Blackadder font.

My final presentation will be groups of  3 x 3 matted and framed, at least that's the current plan.  The extra square might be a problem, but I'll overcome that when I get there.

terrie's for march

I'm actually staying on track and so happy that I am....

I actually finished early this month - a reminder that this is my spotty alpha with the spots of watercolor splatters and all the tiles will be connected by this black ribbon.

I'm sure loving everyone else's creativity - I love that this project draws stitchers, artists, painters and more....so FUN!

The Next Four IJKL

So here we are at stage 3 of my progressive alphabet

all the letters have no had a coat of paint

this is a combination of skim milk powder

yello ochre

and water
mixed to a creamy consistency

OOPS MISSED THE 'E'

"E" will have to come later. Truth be known I was dyslexic and put it round the wrong way so hence it did not make the mark. I am loving these old buttons and taking them from different pieces of the past. Some untouched from my mother's stash, some my own, some collected. I am just glad I am now on target. This month will be busy with the Chinese artists from Wuxi, China.

Jenny's February Post

Well where is my year going already???  Here are my February contributions - we are only part-way through March, right?  Actually I should also have done "I" according to my calendar but I didn't like the background and i didn't have time to re-do it so it will have to sneak into March's letters - maybe no-one will notice...

I'm quite pleased with E and H, not so sure about F and G - maybe I should restrict myself to only one "dot"?

Elaine's next 4

I am not quite sure why I am doing the letters in this order, it just sort of happens. Some letters appear on the paper as if by magic, like ‘e’ and others, like ‘a’, I have enough to wallpaper my room with. I realised when I had finished the ‘p’ that it was very similar to ‘f’, but as they aren’t near each other in the alphabet it won’t be so obvious later. I find it difficult to get both the colour of the sequins and the definition of the stamps in the photographs.

Julie's A through H

Oh my goodness! I figured since I didn't see any pictures come up on email, I was fine...but didn't realize I had to sign in new every year to get emails!
I HAVE been working on my first alphabet right along, so here is a catch up.
I actually have the whole alphabet done, because all the letters are connected, so it had to be designed all at once. But I will just show you sections at a time, then the finished put together in the end. It looks sort of wonky in sections. Letters are cut out of Arches Black cover paper.
I'll keep up now! And my dotty alphabet will be the second one.
