Julie's XY&Z and Finished book
Hi Gang!
Here is the end of the first alphabet, and how it was put together into a concertina book. I folded the alphabet shorter than the page size of the book, so it stands out when opened, to give a 3D look. Then I lettered a quotation about 'lettering' in white ink under the alphabet. The whole book is 2 1/2 x 3 inches, so it's a wee thing! Hope you like it. Now back to the polkadot alphabet!

Holy moly that's tiny! I made a concertina as well (it's almost done) but it's much longer! I love the background and the way your letters are all connected. Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteThank you Terrie!
DeleteThat is gorgeous!! Not only the letters but the rich color as well. Bravo!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's a pastepaper background... I have to make more, as I will use this for a book exchange, so I will not have such dark colors on the ends so the letters show up better. Always fidgeting...
DeleteA very creative concept. I particularly like the way the letters standout... clever thinking.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jo!
DeleteThis looks amazing! So clever.
ReplyDeleteso creative ! your background paper is really lightening your letters.
ReplyDeleteI'll try to do it for myself
What a gorgeous way to set off your alphabet! I love the way the letters physically stand away from the pages, as well as the contrast of the black against the vibrant colors of the pastepaper.
ReplyDeleteHi Julie - I've been delayed in commenting (and missed you in Portland - sigh) but just wanted to say that i love how this has worked out - and I love the scale/size as well. It's a little gem, and I think it was inspired to make the alphabet shorter than the book so it stands out - love the effect!
